Invention
A Short Story by G.S.Vasukumar
He was a scientist who had a research lab at home. He had an assistant who was partially deaf in both the ears. So whatever he told him, he did the reverse of it most of the time. The scientist was inventing a new machine which could tell what was going to happen before five minutes it could actually happen.
“What is this machine, sir?” He asked the scientist curiously.
“A machine which can tell what is going to happen” He said proudly
“Oh, a time machine, is it?” He said “I didn’t know it could be so small. How will we travel in it?”
“Time machine? Did you say a time machine? No, you fool! It isn’t a time machine…it is…forget it! Press that green button when I give you the signal, ok?”
“You need not get annoyed, sir. I was just wondering how it could be so small and how we could fit in it. Alright, I will press the button when you say” He replied
“Ok…now!” He said, giving him the signal
He pressed the ‘Red’ button before scientist could see. The speaker of the machine said,
“You’re going to become deaf!” aloud before it exploded with a loud explosion.
The lab was filled with smoke and the machine was destroyed.
“Sir, why did you take me to this smoky place in this time machine?” He asked
“What did you say, you fool!” He cried aloud
The End
