A PoemWhenever I remember you,
my dear friend
All my troubles vanish
All my troubles vanish
and sorrows end.
I know that I can’t move
I know that I can’t move
you with my love,
as I am myself a stone;
I would ever seek
I would ever seek
your friendship
If I were asked for a boon!
Whenever I imagine you
Whenever I imagine you
In front of my silent
sweet thought,
Then I summon up your
Then I summon up your
remembrance with
the deeds of the past.
Just remembering your
Just remembering your
sweet name of your pretty,
smiling face,
I survive the great
I survive the great
fall of sorrow,
which has a depthful base!
Like summer’s flowers
Like summer’s flowers
blossomed in winter’s frost,
So I remember you
So I remember you
Even when I'm depressed worst.
Now, I sign for absence of
Now, I sign for absence of
Our friendship that I longed for,
Again I mourn on account
Again I mourn on account
of fate’s play in taking you far.
Then my eyes, unaccustomed
Then my eyes, unaccustomed
of weeping, fill with tears;
For a friend who was so intimate
For a friend who was so intimate
to me have now left me forever!
